A levee failure has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood emergency for Fremont and a flash flood warning southeastern Dodge County, according to a NWS alert: "A levee breach on the northwest side of town along the Platte River has failed which will cause flash flooding shortly of the immediately surrounding areas". "Eventually as we head into next week, we should see more and more of the rivers start to recede below flood stage".

Midland city officials say Emerson Park, Dublin Avenue, West St. Andrews Road, Currie Parkway, Pomranky Road, St. Charles Street and Poseyville Road likely will be under water this weekend.

Due to the excess water, the Missouri River is expected to reach 1092-1093 feet in the Dakota Dunes area and 1096-1097 in the Wynstone area.

Local law enforcement agencies reported flooding at points across the warned area at 6 a.m. Thursday. "Things are going to be improving quickly over the next couple of days", said Mike Gillispie, National Weather Service hydrologist in Sioux Falls.

Authorities also confirmed Saturday that a bridge on that highway that crosses the Elkhorn River had been washed out Saturday.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission employees used a fan boat to rescue residents in Gretna.

Roads entering and exiting Fremont remain closed. There has been a disaster proclamation issued for Iowa by Governor Kim Reynolds, after reports of flooding. The city is now working to bolster levees.

The storm also spawned at least three tornadoes in MI and in on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The Omaha-Valley weather service office said it was evacuating its personnel.

Flooding is also common if somewhat less widespread in parts of Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and South Dakota in particular.

Travelers already on I-29 North Drivers who are now heading north on I-29 should use USA 71 North north of St. Joseph to I-35 if possible. DO NOT take United States 275 North.
