Chiefs' Hill under investigation for alleged battery incident

Two reports have emerged from the Overland Park Police Department that involve Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Hill's fiancee Crystal Espinal, and their infant son.

According to KCTV, the police report filed Thursday marked the second time this month that officers have been called to Hill's place of residence.

"I just want everybody to understand that we have done our due diligence with regards to full vetting each one of our draft-class members", former Chiefs GM John Dorsey said after drafting Hill, per the Star.

An unidentified source familiar with the situation told The Kansas City Star that the alleged battery involved Hill and Espinal's 3-year-old son and resulted in a broken arm.

The Chiefs released a statement that read: "The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill".

FOX4-WDAF has reached out to the district attorney and the Chiefs for comment but has not heard back yet at this time.

Tyreek has not been charged with a crime as of yet.

According to Overland Park police, the original report was closed three days later when prosecution was declined.

Hill has a domestic incident in his history, a 2014 assault and battery in which he pleaded guilty to punching and choking then-girlfriend Espinal. He was given three years of probation and ordered to undergo anger management classes. He was arrested and dismissed from the Oklahoma State football team. The team and the star receiver have been discussing a large contract extension that's expected to make him among the highest-paid players at his position. Upon completion of his probation requirements, the felony conviction was dismissed in August 2018 and the charge was wiped from his records.
