Giants trade WR Odell Beckham Jr. to Browns, per report

Jay Glazer of FOX Sports drew ire for a bold prediction that Beckham would be traded this offseason, while Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported just over the weekend the Giants were not actively shopping him. The Giants will receive the Browns' No. 17 overall pick in this year's draft, the team's second third-round pick (No. 95 overall), and safety Jabrill Peppers in exchange for one of the NFL's best receivers, Garafolo revealed on-air.

"We didn't sign him to trade him, if that's what you're asking me", Giants GM Gettleman said during his season-ending press conference.

Where there's smoke there's fire, and when it came to the New York Giants trading wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., there was fire. They included the Browns and San Francisco 49ers, according to sources.

Beckham not being part of that deal felt like it was a shore up of Dave Gettleman's comments about the Giants not being willing to trade Beckham.

Beckham, 26, signed a five-year megadeal with the Giants worth up to $98.5 million less than a year ago.

Last season, Beckham appeared in 12 games, recording 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.

Now, each day it seems that rumors out of Cleveland gain more veracity that the Browns are actively trying to pry Beckham out of NY.

Beckham spent the first five seasons of his career with NY, who selected the wideout with 12th pick of the 2014 National Football League draft. He missed the final four games of the regular season due to a quadriceps injury.
