Pakistan's High Commissioner to India meets PM Imran Khan

Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on Saturday said in a news briefing that Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria will return to Islamabad today.

Addressing the media in Sukkar, FM Qureshi stated that, "People have raised questions on India's policies", adding that Modi's stance is not being accepted by his own people.

Citing "security concerns", Pakistani security officials on Thursday barred a Reuters team from climbing a hill in northeastern Pakistan to the site of a madrasa, or religious school, and a group of surrounding buildings that was targeted by Indian warplanes last week.

He was later released as a unilateral goodwill gesture for peace by Prime Minister Imran Khan. The prime minister said March 8, 2019 that no militant group would be allowed to operate on Pakistani soil and carry out attacks overseas.

"Pakistan's High Commissioner to India will be returning to New Delhi, after completion of consultations in Islamabad", the FO later announced through a media statement.

"These actions are in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1267". Kumar said that it was regrettable that Pakistan continues to remain in a state of denial even after JeM claim taking ownership of Pulwama attack.

He accused Pakistan of failing to take any credible action against Jaish-e-Mohammed and other terrorist organizations, which he said continued to operate with impunity from Pakistan. The attack which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF men was claimed by Pakistan-based terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed. "Repeated requests by us and the worldwide community for Pakistan to take action against such groups have been met with denial", Kumar said. One day later Pakistan responded with fighter jets crossing into Indian-administered Kashmir.

India on Saturday demanded that Pakistan take concrete steps against terrorists operating from its territory, while at the same time returning its top diplomat to Islamabad amid an easing of tensions between the nuclear rivals. "Masood Azhar is the founder and leader of JEM", he said.
