Sources from various reports are saying that dozens of workers have been fired on the spot, after they allegedly gained access to the Empire actor's medical records.

Police say Smollett, who is black and gay, claimed two men hurled slurs and looped a rope around his neck on January 29, 2019, in downtown Chicago.

Smollett, 36, a black, openly gay actor on the hip-hop TV drama "Empire", was charged with lying to police last month after he said he was attacked in January by two masked men who shouted racist and homophobic slurs.

This former Northwestern nurse is speaking out because she said that those who fired her at the hospital never asked her any investigative questions.

The actor was arrested on February 21 and charged with filing a false police report after detectives said he staged the hoax hate crime attack to boost his fame because he was unhappy with his salary on the show. Smollett was then arrested and released on a $100,000 bond.

Smollett has denied that any involvement in orchestrating an attack. The actor's legal counsel told Fox News after Smollett was accused of filing the fake police report that the nation "witnessed an organized law enforcement spectacle that has no place in the American legal system".

According to the Chicago Police Department, Smollett paid Abimbola "Abel" and Olabinjo "Ola" Osundairo by check for a "phony attack" in order to take "advantage of the pain and anger of racism to promote his career".

Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson may have also gone too far when he said Jussie paid the brothers $3,500 to stage the attack.

Smollett has maintained his innocence. CPD adds there's been a ton of "inaccurate" info in the media, and they want to know who's putting it out there.
