Nintendo Switch VR Headset Launches Soon As A New Labo Kit

This set includes the Nintendo Switch software, plus all the components to build the Toy-Con VR Goggles and Toy-Con Blaster, as well as the Screen Holder and Safety Cap and is said to be a "great entry point into the world of Nintendo Labo VR".

Strictly speaking there is just one dedicated VR kit, the Toy-Con 04 VR Kit, but it will be available in two configurations.

The VR kit will be available in North America on April 12.

On Wednesday night, Nintendo announced its Nintendo Labo: VR Kit, the fourth in its Labo series of DIY Switch accessories, and the first to bring what Nintendo is calling "basic VR technology" to the platform. Fend off an alien invasion with the Toy-Con Blaster, visit a colorful in-game ocean and snap photos of the sea life with the Toy-Con Camera and so much more.

Not wishing to make people double dip, owners of the starter kit can pick up two expansion sets for $19.99 each. Nintendo Labo: VR Kit offers six new Toy-Con creations to build, including the Toy-Con VR Goggles, which combine with the other creations, encouraging players to use natural movements and gestures to interact with the gaming world and elevating the Nintendo Labo gameplay experience.

Interested players can purchase the Nintendo Labo VR Kit starting April 12th.

The Toy-Con 04 VR Kit will launch in the U.S. on 12 April through Nintendo, though there's now no word on when the set will come to other territories. One includes all Toy-Con creations and the other is a smaller, introductory kit. If the majority of these kits will seem a little too heavy on your wallet initially, there's also a starter kit that only comes bundled with the VR goggles and blaster.

There will be four different packs in total, the VR Starter Set will include VR Goggles and a Blaster, there will also be two Expansion Sets (1 and 2).

Note that this is just a virtual reality set for the Labo, this won't suddenly let you play Breath of the Wild in VR.
