Microsoft Unveils the new HoloLens 2 at MWC19, Retails for $3,500

"HoloLens 2 enables direct manipulation of holograms with the same instinctual interactions you'd use with physical objects in the real world". However, the first HoloLens headset was a very bulky device to put on your head. Furthermore, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney announced at Microsoft's HoloLens 2 unveiling that Unreal Engine 4 support will be coming to the headset. That was the major takeaway from my time with HoloLens 2, its new $3,500 headset aimed not at you (or me), but at businesses. ' The new design also packs eye-tracking sensors, missing from the original, iris recognition for Windows Hello login and improved comfort, the company claims. HoloLens 2 will initially be available for $3,500 in the US, Japan, China, Germany, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Australia and New Zealand, the company announced at the ongoing 2019 Mobile World Congress here on Sunday.

Speaking to TechRadar, Lars Bergstom, director of engineering for Mozilla's Mixed Reality Program, said, "Building on Microsoft's years of experience with the current HoloLens, we will work together to learn from developers and users about bringing AR content to the web".

The Redmond company just unveiled their HoloLens 2 at its press event today. It will allow for better real-time collaboration with people using virtual avatars. Engineers could use it to help construct new prototypes of products.
