"I do want to say, they're just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere", Clooney told World Health Organization magazine during an interview in Los Angeles.

George Clooney said Tuesday that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is being "pursued and vilified and chased" by the media the same way her husband's mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, was before her death.

The Duchess of York penned her piece to back Hello! magazine's new #hellotokindness campaign, which started in the wake of the social media bullying against both the Duchess of Sussex and Duchess of Cambridge.

As Mr Markle threatens to release more content of the five page letter, The Daily Telegraph have reported that palace aides are taking legal advice before Meghan decides whether she wants to take formal action.

From her estranged family speaking out against her, to facing a lot of unwarranted public scrutiny - it's safe to say Meghan Markle hasn't had the smoothest ride since marrying into the royal family.

Clooney and his wife Amal attended Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry, Diana's son, past year when the American actress became the newest addition to the British royal family.

"You've told the press that you called me to say you weren't coming to the wedding - that didn't happen because you never called", Markle reportedly wrote.

He compared the public and media treatment of the former actress to that of Diana's in the lead up to her horror auto crash death.

He added a stark warning: "We've seen how that ends".

But, according to Meghan's friends, the Duchess of Sussex wrote her dad a letter and begged her dad to let her and Harry live their lives "in peace", and she also called him out for talking to the tabloids instead of answering her calls.

Meghan also admonishes her father for siding with her half-sister Samantha - who has attacked her in the press - while she "silently suffered at the hand of her vicious lies".
