George Clooney: Meghan Markle being harassed, like Princess Diana

George Clooney's suggestion that the Duchess of Sussex is being "pursued, vilified and chased" in the same way as Princess Diana has raised eyebrows among those who consider ER to be a purely royal reference.

As per one of the USA mags, her friends said that she wrote the letter to heal the differences Meghan and her father had since past year May.

George Clooney said Meghan Markle has "been pursued and vilified" like Diana.

Thomas Markle has shared the emotional letter Meghan Markle wrote him in August 2018.

The 57-year-old actor spoke in the wake of the fall out from a U.S. magazine interview, in which Meghan's closest friends revealed she had written to her now-estranged father Thomas Markle in August, begging him to stop talking to the media.

George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, were among the guests at Harry and Meghan's wedding in May 2018 and speculation about one or both of them standing sponsor to baby Sussex began nearly as soon as the royal couple confirmed they were expecting a child. But she's eight months pregnant, and vilified and persecuted her as Diana. I wish we could get together and take a photo for the whole world to see.

Meghan goes on to beg: "If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop".

"No!" he told the room of reporters, adding jokingly, "I'm a father of twins, I have enough sh-t to deal with - literally!"

According to The Express, Prince Harry first laid eyes on Meghan when he was shown an Instagram picture and he didn't hide his feelings, saying "wow, she's hot".

"To hear about the attacks you've made at Harry in [the] press, who was nothing but patient, kind and understanding with you is perhaps the most painful of all", Meghan wrote.

The letter emerged after five close friends of the Duchess told People that she has "silently sat back and endured the lies and untruths".

Mr Markle revealed the letter to the Daily Mail on Sunday.

Meghan's friend coming out in her support by giving interviews to the press on her behalf is something that royal expert, Camilla Tominey, has warned against.

She also accused her father of not reaching out to her after the wedding, and not letting her know that he wasn't attending. "I defend millions of women globally, why wouldn't I do the same for her".
