Ellen DeGeneres shaves off Julian Edelman's beard

While the 2018 National Football League season ended with New England Patriots receiver winning a Super Bowl as well as the big game's MVP, he started off the season with a four-game suspension after testing positive for PED's.

Edelman of course is coming off of a 10-catch, 141-yard performance in a Super Bowl victory over the Los Angeles Rams that earned him MVP honors. This is what I was put here to do. "I can't sit here and (due to) the league rules say what happened".

In an interview before the shave, Edelman said that winning the Super Bowl was the most important part of the night, but that: "Getting the MVP is kind of a win for me and my other team, and that's my family".

NFL.com also has a story promoting Edelman's Hall of Fame worthiness - "Julian Edelman is going to the Hall of Fame".

As Degeneres raises the clippers toward his face (after comically making her hand shake), Edelman said, "Wait, wait".

Asked if he felt the suspension was unjust, Edelman was careful to accept blame without detailing what blame he was accepting. My father was a tough, hard-nosed guy who, you know, didn't have a father and pushed me to limits I never thought I'd get to. You learn a lot from that.

"Yeah, I'm working on it now", Belichick said at the time.

And sure enough, a little over a week after the Patriots' sixth Super Bowl win (and Belichick's eighth), pictures of the updated "VIII Rings" began to make their way around the internet on Monday.

Edelman said he would match Ellen's donation with his own $10,000. "From this whole thing, I've learned that you've just got to stay in your routine, and you've just got to work your way out of it".
