Philadelphia 76ers Trade Markelle Fultz: Details

In exchange the Magic will send Philadelphia shooting guard Jonathon Simmons, the Thunder's 2020 protected first round pick and the Cavaliers 2019 second round pick.

The 76ers traded up in the 2017 draft with the rival Boston Celtics to grab Fultz with the first pick, a move that has failed in hindsight as Boston got arguably the best player in the draft with the No. 3 pick in Jayson Tatum.

Fultz had a tumultuous time in Philadelphia where he dealt with a hitch in his jump shot, a couple of injuries and a fair amount of underachievement. "There's a real possibility he's played his last game with the 76ers".

Fultz, 20, was going to struggle to see playing time following the Sixers' trade for Jimmy Butler.

With a rebuilding Magic squad that's in need of backcourt help, Fultz may be able to get healthy and hopefully fulfil his potential after being selected number one overall in the 2017 draft.

Markelle Fultz is on the move.

Fultz appeared in just 33 games since the 76ers took him first overall, and hasn't played this season since November 19 as he deals with thoracic outlet syndrome. Since then, he's transformed into a pretty darn good National Basketball Association player, averaging 8.5 points in about 20 minutes of action a night over his four-year career. Through two seasons, the Washington product has made just 33 regular-season appearances, averaging 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 20.6 minutes per game.
