'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' teases mini Super Bowl trailers

It's been a few years now since writers Daniel & Kevin Hageman climbed aboard the Guillermo del Toro-produced adaptation of Alvin Schwartz's bestselling children's book triad, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but at long last, the film is now on its way to theaters and to prove it, we have the very first trailers for you up above and below. This is the stuff of nightmares! The four teasers released during the Super Bowl focused on some of scariest stories in the book series - Jangly Man, Red Spot, Pale Lady, and The Big Toe. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark hits theaters on August 9, 2019.

Lights on? Check. There's no such thing as bedtime when del Toro has to tuck you in with Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark. This is the ultimate scary throwback for those of us who grew up with these stories. With a cast including Zoe Margaret Colletti, Michael Garza, Austin Zajur, Gabriel Rush, Kathleen Pollard, and Gil Bellows. A terrifying scarecrow takes center stage.

It will be interesting to see how they weave together the horror elements-Scary Stories is a collection of short stories-into a single narrative that serves different kinds of horror tales under one umbrella.

Produced by Guillermo del Toro and directed by André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark stars Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Dean Norris, Lorraine Toussaint, and the great Javier Botet - whose work has likely scared the trousers off of you in movies like IT and The Conjuring 2. The first trailer also gave us glimpses at the other scary stories the movie will bring to life.

On Sunday, while fans watched Super Bowl LIII, del Toro creeped out fans with new Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark footage.
