Monaco sign Chelsea's Fabregas on three-and-a-half-year deal

Fabregas is completing his move to Monaco on a three-and-a-half-year deal as Chelsea deliberate over whether or not to sign Nicolo Barella or Leandro Paredes as the Spaniard's replacement.

While he was able to record just one goal in 14 appearances in all competitions this campaign for the London club. Another loan move is now on the cards with Monaco continuously expressing their interest.

Standard Sport journalist Simon Johnson has revealed his belief that Parades is closer to becoming a Chelsea player than Barella.

And now Monaco have now turned their attentions to Belgium global Batshuayi who worked with Henry while he was assistant to Roberto Martinez at the World Cup.

Fabregas will be required to make an immediate impact for Henry's men, who now languish second from bottom of the Ligue 1 table and face the threat of relegation.

"Michy? I know him, we rubbed shoulders with Belgium, he is a player who can be interesting", Henry said.

"But again, nothing is done". You have to be patient.

Successive wins in domestic cup competitions, knocking Canet Roussillon out of the French Cup before reaching the French League Cup semi-finals at the expense of Rennes, could provide the flawless platform for Monaco to begin their Ligue 1 fightback.

Maxime Lopez's first Ligue 1 goal since scoring twice in a 5-1 win at Caen in April 2017 handed Marseille the ideal start when he scored in the 13th minute. Notable, Batshuayi has experience playing in the French top-flight having turned up for Marseille for two years prior to moving to Chelsea.

"Michy Batshuayi? We met in Belgium".

The Belgium global has struggled to find himself a home since joining Chelsea, despite a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the latter stages of last season.
