Jayme Closs Spent First Night Home Next To Me, Says Aunt

Jayme Closs had been missing for almost three months when she approached a stranger in a small Wisconsin town and pleaded for help.

After the news that 13-year-old Jayme Closs was found safe in Wisconsin after missing for almost three months, there are many emotions being felt by the families of other missing persons.

There was no sign of Jayme until she was found "skinny and dirty" on Thursday by a dog walker in a town 65 miles away from her home. That just came in on our tipline, ' Baron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerland said.

The update from authorities came a day after they announced that Closs, 13, was found alive following a almost three-month disappearance.

Mr Fitzgerald said Jayme had not connected with Mr Patterson on social media, and the suspect had had no contact with anyone else in the family.

Jayme Closs' suspected kidnapper had no prior criminal record, however, detectives are now looking into his brother who was convicted of sexually assaulting a minor. "She said she did not know him".

Erik once lived in the same rural cabin in Gordon, Wisconsin where Jayme was held captive.

Roseanna Forcum and her friend, 21-year-old April Nicole Geyer, disappeared after attending a party in St. Paul in mid-August 1998.

Closs vanished October 15 after her parents were gunned down inside their home in Barron County, located about 80 miles northeast of Minneapolis. Patterson quit, saying he was moving from the area, according to the company.

Patterson took such measures as shaving his head beforehand to avoid leaving evidence at the scene, the sheriff said. "Jayme was the champion that finally said enough is enough", Fitzgerald said.

There is no evidence in the early stages of the investigation that links Patterson to the parents or to Jayme, Fitzgerald said.

"We don't really know what shape she's in", he added.

Mr Patterson was interviewed by Douglas County officials and then transported to the Barron County jail. Officers arrested Patterson minutes later. "(Jayme) don't know him from Adam.

Nutter took Jayme to the closest house, the home of Kristin and Peter Kasinkas, and they called 911. Last month he got a cake that read: "Happy Birthday Rose" for her 36th birthday.

Jayme Closs, the teen who was abducted after her parents were murdered, has been pictured for the first time since her escape.
