Real Madrid sign Brahim Diaz from Manchester City for reported €15m

Diaz has struggled for regular game time under Pep Guardiola and has now chose to end his stay at the Etihad, signing a six-year deal with the Spanish giants.

It is worth noting that Diaz is highly rated by both clubs, but wasn't receiving enough playing time under Pep Guardiola at City, prompting interest from Real Madrid.

"I know they are in conversation but I don't have any new information about the situation", he said of Diaz last week, per Sky Sports.

The signing of Diaz is the latest example of Madrid's aggressive transfer policy in recent years which has seen them hoover up young Spanish talent with varying success.

For example, the Premier League heavyweights will receive another £3m if the player is offered a contract extension by Madrid in the future.

"I was clear last week when I spoke about it".

City have also negotiated a very interesting clause that impacts Manchester United.

The agreement includes a 15 per cent sell-on clause, however English media claims of an anti-United clause have been dismissed, says AS.

The midfielder, who scored a brace in Man City's Carabao Cup win over Fulham this season, will join Madrid for an initial £15.5m fee, which could rise to £22 million with add-ons.

Dani Ceballos, a 16 million euro acquisition from Real Betis in 2017, has also failed to hold down a place in Santiago Solari's side while Theo Hernandez, who switched from neighbours Atletico Madrid previous year, is on loan at Real Sociedad.
