Kyler Murray Won't Rule Out Future In NFL

Star Alabama defensive tackle Quinnen Williams must be licking his chops at the opportunity of going up against reigning Heisman victor Kyler Murray and the Oklahoma Sooners in the CFP Semifinals this coming Saturday. Murray played well, finishing 19 of 37 for 308 yards and two TDs, but it wasn't enough.

Baseball or football? A massive decision awaits. Clemson racked up 538 yards of offense on a lauded Notre Dame defense that ranked 22nd in the nation in yards allowed per game as the Tigers rolled the Irish in a contest that was essentially decided by halftime. "I'm a confident guy. I've played this game my whole life and I've always felt I could do it". This wasn't the hole the Sooners dug themselves in Lubbock - it was a crater, and they weren't able to make it out unscathed. Murray was limited to just 168 total yards in the first half before flashing the big-play potential that helped secure him the Heisman Trophy late in the season.

Nonetheless, this is a situation that Murray hasn't thought much yet.

Nor can his ability on the baseball diamond - the Oakland Athletics made him the No. 9 pick in this year's draft, paying about $4.6 million in bonus money for someone they could see in their outfield before too long. The A's front office has been watching the college football season with fingers crossed that their top prospect would remain healthy for 2019. The lone area of concern, particularly against Oklahoma, is big plays. But still, it's exciting...

"You know, it's football". The most noise the Sooners mustered in the early going was when linebacker Kenneth Murray talked trash with the Alabama bench - with his team trailing by three touchdowns. "Nobody expected this. So now it's kind of like, 'What do you do?' But for me, I'm just taking it one day at a time and doing what I've always done". Every Sooner offensive play, good and bad, goes through the player symbolically wearing jersey No. 1. An MLB scout broke down Murray's baseball outlook. "I truly think he loves playing football". "He can be a star".

Murray, a center fielder, batted.296 with 10 home runs, 47 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases for Oklahoma in 2018.

Now, he'll decide if that's how he wants his football career to end. "I'm just thankful that we got back and has a better result", Swinney said.

"I think it's going to be exciting", Tagovailoa said.

Vegas released odds in early December on Murray's future.

Though the 5-foot-10 dual threat would be undersized in the National Football League, his extraordinary athleticism has propelled Murray into the first round of numerous draft projections.
