First camera samples by the 48MP camera of the Honor View 20

The Honor View 20 is the first smartphone to sport 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor.

Honor V20 smartphone was launched in December 2018.

The move came as Honor achieved 150 percent year-on-year growth in overseas markets while maintaining its position as China's leading e-commerce smartphone brand.

The View20 has a 1/2.0-inch CMOS, and uses the same Light Fusion technology found in previous Huawei flagships, which allows the phone to stitch together multiple photos in order to create better low-light images.

However, other details regarding the Honor View 20 are still unknown. Huawei's sub-brand has shared the first camera samples of the Honor V20 to reveal the photography prowess of the 48-megapixel camera sensor in all kinds of lighting environments. The successor to the View 10 takes the focus on screen-to-body ratios to new heights, with a new notch-defeating design similar to Samsung's Infinity-O. Released camera samples so far haven't been the most impressive, and while we've seen companies like Google and Apple do incredible things with just one sensor, we're not sure if Huawei's abilities offset the utility lost by ditching secondary sensors.

Notably, the Honor View20 is also the first smartphone to come with a massive 48MP rear camera, although Xiaomi plans to launch a 48MP phone in January as well.

There will then be a global launch event in Paris on 22 January where we'll find out more details of a United Kingdom and European launch.

If this is true, we can expect the price to remain unchanged as the brand would be just switching the polycarbonate back of POCO F1 to that of gradient colours.

We only got to get a glimpse of the All-View Display from afar at Honor's Hong Kong event today, but the View 20 will become official at its Beijing launch on December 26th, followed by the global launch in Paris on January 22nd next year.

Honor has confirmed that thte Honor View 20 has an octa-core Kirin 980 chipset. It automatically analyzes users' usage models and network conditions and then switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi or 4G networks to boost downloading speed by adopting both the networks.
