Apple executive responds to complaints about bent iPad Pro units

Apple executive responds to complaints about bent iPad Pro units

The report stays true to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's report who predicted that Apple will launch a new miniature iPad in late 2018 or early next year. But at the bare minimum, it's probably safe to expect an updated processor (the iPad Mini 4 is still using a Apple A8 chip from 2014) and a more modern screen with slimmer bezels. Riccio claims that the design of the new iPad Pro "meets or exceeds" all of the company's standard of design and precision manufacturing.

Indeed the China Times report also mentions a few cost-cutting measures by Apple, including switching the production of its LED panels to new locations to keep prices as low as possible.

In the letter, the executive says that the design "meets or exceeds all of Apple's high quality standards of design and precision manufacturing".

Apple's general thinning down of the design does mean the new iPad feels very different, and much more like the sheet of glass Apple wants it to be than in previous incarnations. We've carefully engineered it and every part of the manufacturing process is precisely measured and controlled. His response, posted in full on MacRumors, puts an exact number on what Apple would consider an acceptable amount of physical warping.

According to the report, the email also revealed that there's a company statement that will be going out officially to media soon, but it hasn't been released at this time. "Note, these slight variations do not affect the function of the device in any way".

Again, thanks for reaching out and I hope the above explanation addresses your concerns.

The processing speed of the new Pros is astonishing - in demos I was shown picture editing and games running at a shockingly quick speed, and apple says it it now faster than most desktop and laptop PCs on the market. And Apple continues to claim that's not a defect. And if you've been waiting this long for a new iPad Mini, sitting tight for another three or four months shouldn't be too hard, right?
