Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Becomes Europe’s Fastest-Selling Home Console Game Ever

Super Smash Bros Ultimate surpassed 3 million sales in the US during its first 11 days on shelves, according to Nintendo's own internal sales data. Ultimate, which is already the fastest-selling Switch game and Smash Bros. title - with over 3 million copies sold in just 11 days in the US. Ultimate and Switch sales in Europe and the U.S.

But that doesn't seem to have stopped sales, with The NPD Group reporting that, in the United States, the Switch has been the fastest-selling console this generation over the last 21 months. The little hybrid console also outsold one of its predecessors, the Nintendo Wii, within the same timeframe, and this doesn't even take into account sales in Japan for all three consoles. "We're looking forward to delivering more excitement and smiles to our fans in the coming year and beyond".

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has nudged Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption II into second spot, which has been top dog for most weeks since its release. Super Mario Odyssey has sold over 4.7 million units.

Nintendo eShop sales have grown 105 percent over 2017. The more recent Super Mario Party stands at 1.4 million and Pokémon: Let's Go a total of 2 million. These numbers makes Smash Bros.

Evergreen Nintendo Switch games have set new milestones, with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe selling over 4 million and 5 million units, respectively.
