PSG ready to snatch De Jong from under Barcelona's nose

According to Dutch paper De Telegraaf, PSG are willing to pay up 75 million euros for De Jong, who is considered one of the world's most promising young players in his position.

The most expensive Dutch player ever will remain Virgil van Dijk after his £75m move to Liverpool 12 months ago but De Jong's prospective deal would make him the most expensive Eredivisie player of all time.

Pep Guardiola has reportedly been left seething after learning that Manchester City will miss out on the signing of Ajax wonderkid Frenkie de Jong.

While De Jong is focused on helping Ajax win their first Eredivisie title since 2014, the Netherlands global revealed his admiration for City boss Pep Guardiola and his style of football. We have permission from Ajax to speak to other clubs, they are aware of it.

"The only thing I can and will say is that there is still no agreement", said De Jong, a Barcelona target.

"I want to finish this season well with Ajax. I do not know yet what I'm going to do, leave or stay another year, in principle everything is still open and nothing has been decided yet".

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has refused to rule out the Bundesliga giants making a move for Ajax prodigy Frenkie de Jong.

Mbappe has been keen on the club bringing De Jong to France to take up the playmaker role. Then we will see.

"I can't be anxious about saying "I'm going here or there".

The Frenchman said that his quality passes that break lines make him a very useful player.

Barça and Man City may have little choice but to move quickly to match PSG if they do not wish to lose out.
