Packers must be wary of Josh McDaniels as head coach candidate

Those are the four things that we've got to do the next four weeks. "But again, I'm not anxious about that right now".

Philbin, with the support of Packers president Mark Murphy and general manager Brian Gutekunst, fired the associate head coach/linebackers coach for reasons that went beyond Moss' tweet, he said.

Moss, a longtime assistant coach under McCarthy with Green Bay whose official title was associate head coach/linebackers coach, was sacked Tuesday in the aftermath of the tweet. The 52-year-old coach had sent out a tweet earlier in the day on Tuesday that was perceived to be critical of both McCarthy and the franchise's star quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.

"We thank Winston for his contributions to the Packers over the past 13 years", Philbin said.

"Yeah I think it's important obviously that everybody's on the same page, that we're all moving forward in the same direction". Period! It's not the offensive guru trend, it's not the safe trend.

Moss asserted the organization needed to "find somebody that is going to hold #12 and everybody in this building" accountable after McCarthy was sacked on Sunday following a disappointing home loss to the Cardinals.

While supporters and detractors alike flocked to the post to share their opinion, the Packers wasted little time expressing their view of Moss' public comment.

"As a head coach, the first thing you realize (is) winning, losing, wherever you are at, it is a business just like it is for the player". Moss, an 11-year National Football League veteran linebacker, has been an National Football League assistant for 20 years in all and the associate head coach in Green Bay the past four years. Respect him; outstanding family man.

Philbin wouldn't theorize on what point Moss was trying to make with the tweet.
