Ariana Grande Sings "thank u, next" & Trips On Her Heels On 'Ellen'

Ariana Grande Sings

Last weekend, the singer released surprise single Thank U, Next, in which she sings about four of her ex-boyfriends including Mac Miller and Pete Davidson. However, there is one additional male she mentions that might not be on everyone's radar, her estranged father, Edward Butera. "Oh my god", she said before regaining her balance and picking up where she left off.

Grande, 25, performed her latest single, "Thank U, Next," on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday, and wasn't subtle about referencing her failed engagement to the "SNL" comedian.

Butera is a Florida-based graphic designer, who split from Joan when Grande was eight.

As RadarOnline.com readers know, Grande has had a tough year.

Many fans think the release was a pre-emptive strike as she prepared for whatever Davidson might say on the first "SNL" back on the air since their highly-publicized breakup.

In June a year ago her concert was the target of a suicide bomber, who killed 22 of her fans and their parents. "I'll be thanking my dad. I had to accept that it's okay not to get along with somebody and still love them".

Arianators gathered on Wednesday afternoon as she dropped the clip at 5pm United Kingdom time, with social media immediately awash with praise and admiration for the star, who in the past 18 months has gone through a lot. Grande has kept mum about her father since then, but she did wish Butera a Happy Father's Day on Instagram previous year and even wrote, "I love you". "For instance, in one message, she wrote, "'m so. f-kin. grateful".

Grande's rep then insisted the reports linking the LP to the singer were "incorrect", confirming the album was "not an Ariana release".
