Overwatch Blizzcon 2018: New hero Ashe and McCree 'Reunion’ short REVEALED

But instead it was revealed to be Ashe, the leader of the Deadlock Gang.

The latest Overwatch short debuted today during BlizzCon 2018, revolving around popular character McCree, and one new face was revealed during the short: Hero 29, Ashe.

The trailer gave us a sneak peek at the Damage hero and her abilities.

Unlike most other characters in Overwatch, it seems like Ashe's primary weapon - a semi-automatic rifle named "The Viper" - can be aimed via iron sights or hip fire. The vast pushback can propel her into the air if shot at the ground and it can also push enemies away too similarly to Brigitte's flail.

"Ashe blasts enemies in front of her, knocking them away and propelling herself backward for added mobility". Finally, her ultimate, Bob, summons her hulking mechanical sidekick "who charges forward and knocks enemies into the air, then lays down suppressing fire with his arm cannons". Ashe's main weapon rewards precise aim, as does her Dynamite ability.

A new animated short released during BlizzCon shows a bit of Ashe's history with McCree, one of the original "Overwatch" heroes. More to come on her, as Blizzard sends the information over. The two gunslingers find themselves in a stand-off over a valuable payload on the familiar Route 66 map.

BlizzCon 2018 is well underway, and with it comes a ton of new announcements from the studio.
