Ariana Grande Shouts Out Her Exes on New Song 'thank u, next'

Near the end of his sketch, Davidson addressed the audience more seriously about ending his engagement to Grande in an unusual turn.

What some were perhaps eagerly awaiting as a final kiss-off to Davidson ended up being a sweet, thoughtful song about learning to love yourself above anyone else.

Ariana Grande dropped a surprise track titled 'Thank U, Next' on 3 November. He started his segment about the upcoming Tuesday election by joking that he has been paying a lot more attention to politics since he moved back in with his mom.

The song focuses on four ex-boyfriends in particular; Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson.

Davidson went on to directly address his and Grande's breakup during a segment on "Weekend Update", in which he praised his ex and asked viewers to respect their privacy. She says she wishes she could thank Malcolm and calls him an angel.

"One taught me love / One taught me patience / And one taught me pain".

Ariana Grande's new song is out!

"And the last thing I will say, I know some of you are curious about the breakup, but the truth is, it's nobody's business", Davidson says.

It seems the title of the new track "thank u, next" and possibly the whole album was inspired by a retort on Twitter to her now ex fiance.

Meanwhile an emotional Davidson referenced the split on SNL, calling her a 'wonderful, strong person'.
