Man arrested for threatening GOP senators who voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh

Ronald DeRisi, 74, allegedly left expletive-filled phone messages to the senators, whose names were not released in a federal complaint in support of an arrest warrant that was unsealed by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of NY. "Side of your f-ing skull, you scumbag motherf-er", and then mentioning Kavanaugh at the end of the call.

"In the wake of the hearings, I think there's still a lot of feelings of anger and betrayal at the law school", Raymond told Hyperallergic.

Though the senators in question have not been identified, one reported receiving a voicemail on September 27 that said, "It's a 9 millimeter".

Nearly an hour later, at 5.42pm, the caller left another voicemail for the same Senator, in which he appeared to say that he was "tired" of the Senator "sucking taxpayers" money!

The 85-year-old senator got another call that same day, saying: "We're exhausted of this guy sucking taxpayers' money!" Getting a free f**king ride!'

After executing a search warrant, investigators found ammunition for a 9-millimeter gun at DeRisi's home, Marzulli said.

Less than 90 minutes later, prosecutors alleged, DeRisi left follow-up message in which he said: "I'm gonna get you". None! He's a dead man!

Following his confirmation, a large crowd of protesters rushed the front steps of the Supreme Court, chanting, "Hey hey, ho ho, Kavanaugh has got to go", according to CNN. "Nine millimeter, side of the [expletive] head".

Capitol Police said Derisi called the senators from a pre-paid cellphone and left threatening voicemails both before and after Kavanaugh's contentious confirmation on October 6.

But even despite Flake's indulgent ignorance of these facts, his comments on the show Tuesday reveal that serious doubts remain about Kavanaugh's fitness - and not just among Democrats.

Trump, along with the majority of Republican senators, made a decision to stand by Kavanaugh and successfully see him confirmed to the Supreme Court. Almost two-thirds of college-educated women said Ford was treated unfairly, a potentially damaging finding for House Republicans defending competitive suburban districts in next month's elections.

DeRisi was previously arrested for making threatening phone calls to another individual three years ago. The caller said, "We're exhausted of this guy sucking taxpayers' money!"

This was not the first time DeRisi had been arrested for threatening behavior.

"We and all those dedicated to the rule of law will not tolerate the use violence and threats of violence in attempts to prevail in political disputes", said Richard Donoghue, the USA attorney for New York's Eastern District.

He was also arrested in 2011 for cutting cables on a cell tower.
