Hundreds of thousands of protesters march through London demanding a people's vote

Hundreds of thousands of anti-Brexit campaigners have gathered in central London calling for a second referendum, as a pro-Leave rally is held in Yorkshire.

Some Islanders were redirected at Trafalgar Square due to the streets being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers who turned out in support of a People's Vote.

Speaking before the march Labour's Lord Adonis said: "Brexit's becoming a dog's dinner".

Organizers said about 700,000 people took part in the march, which would make it the largest in Britain since a demonstration against the Iraq war in 2003. The London police declared themselves unable to calculate the full size of the crowd, while organizers estimated it at 700,000.

The move was supported by the Labour majority, but opposed by the Conservative opposition, in an often fractious debate at Waltham Forest Town Hall on Thursday night (18th). Corbyn was in Geneva meeting the former president of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, who was imprisoned by the Pinochet regime.

"It is right that Eastleigh Borough Council speaks up for local residents and demands our Members of Parliament put their voters before the internal party political battles in Westminster".

"And so let the message ring out loudly and clearly today: It's time, it's time for this vital issue to be taken out of the hands of politicians in Westminster".

They held placards and banners that were critical of this government's handling of the Brexit negotiations.

In total 150 coach loads of people from across the United Kingdom - including as far away from London as Orkney - travelled to the March for the Future. "It is a scandal and it should not be accepted".
