Broncos QB Chad Kelly arrested for trespassing

A backup quarterback for the Broncos was arrested Tuesday morning for allegedly walking into a odd house, frightening the people inside.

Following his arrest, Kelly was transported to Arapahoe County Jail, where he was booked on a first-degree criminal trespassing charge and later released after posting a $2,500 bond.

According to the release, Englewood police officers were called to the scene at 1:17 a.m. after a man, later identified as Kelly, was spotted standing outside of a residence on South Lincoln Street. While cops were en route, the man entered the home. The male homeowner whacked Kelly with an aluminum vacuum tube and kicked him out of the house. Police later saw a man matching the intruder's description sitting in a black SUV. He was taken into custody without a struggle. The woman said Kelly was "mumbling incoherently".

Police also stated the clothes Kelly was wearing matched the clothing worn by the man who broke into the residence, per the house surveillance cameras.

The Broncos have released a brief statement on the matter: "We are disappointed that Chad Kelly was arrested early this morning".

"We're obviously very, very disappointed in Chad and the situation that he's put himself into", Elway said on the radio Tuesday afternoon. 'Our organization has been in contact with Chad, and we are in the process of gathering more information'. It wasn't until the last pick in the 2017 NFL Draft that the Broncos chose him, earning him the title of Mr.

"We're going to look into this, and look into it very seriously, because the charges are very, very serious and we understand that". He'll appear in court tomorrow, October 24.

The Broncos are aware of the incident but have yet to release a statement.

The Broncos have voiced their displeasure with Kelly and his actions, the assumption being he got drunk at the party and made some stupid decisions thereafter.

Kelly missed his rookie season while recovering from knee and wrist injuries.

However, there were character concerns surrounding Kelly ever since his college days, and now, this incident has come to light.
