Bullpen shines, but Bellinger’s walk-off victor ties NLCS 2-2

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one win away from back-to-back trips to the World Series for the first time in 40 years.

He says he hasn't made a decision.

The Dodger Stadium crowd was behind left-hander Clayton Kershaw from the start Wednesday.

The Brewers led 1-0 in the third on Lorenzo Cain's RBI double to deep center.

"If you would have told us in spring training we would have a chance to go back to the World Series, one game to go, we definitely would have taken that", said Kershaw, who has tried not to reflect on his future during this playoff run.

Woodruff, as he has all postseason, pitched into an unshakable groove, scattering just one hit and one walk in his first four innings. Despite walking three batters, Rich Hill managed to strike out six and had many viewers raving about his curveball.

Pitching in 82-degree sunshine, Kershaw was well-rested and masterful in allowing one run and three hits over seven. "What matters is just finding a way to get the big hit". But there have been at least as many bad ones (Game 6 of the NLCS against the St. Louis Cardinals in 2013, Game 1 of the NLDS against the Cardinals in 2014, Game 5 of the World Series against the Astros in 2017). Kershaw's final line, once he was lifted for Pedro Baez, included two walks and nine strikeouts that all came on either his slider or curveball. "Maybe I threw some more curveballs today than I did in Game 1".

Taylor connected on a 97 miles per hour four-seam fastball for an infield single and was able to take second on a throwing error by Milwaukee shortstop Orlando Arcia.

In the 10th, Ryan Braun singled with two outs and stole second against Jansen, who struck out Jesus Aguilar.

Curtis Granderson hit an RBI double in the ninth.

Enrique Hernandez was none too pleased on how the Dodgers played during the 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, nor with how the fan base acted throughout the defeat. Austin Barnes tied it with an RBI single, one inning before Max Muncy and Yasiel Puig (YAH'-see-ul pweeg) delivered run-scoring singles. Milwaukee got only two runners to third base, none after the seventh inning.

In the bottom of the seventh, Justin Turner singled to center field, advancing to second.

Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said: "I thought it was worth the risk of trying to expand to Bellinger, and if the at-bat goes to Grandal, we walk Grandal".

The Dodgers said tickets were still available for Game 5, which begins at 2:05 p.m. PDT. Teams with a 3-2 lead in a best-of-seven NLCS have a 15-6 series record. He faced just one hitter, throwing five pitches.

Taylor's hustle in running to first, which helped cause the error, advancing to second and then stealing third was nearly infectious, as a series of little things helped the Dodgers win a second consecutive playoff game without hitting a home run.
