Senators demand Magnitsky Act probe, sanctions on Saudi Arabia over Khashoggi disappearance

The 15 departed at four different times, Sabah reported.

Trump declined to say whom he talked with in the Saudi government.

'I don't know how I can keep living if he was abducted or killed in Turkey, ' the 36-year-old wrote in the Washington Post, the paper Mr Khashoggi worked for.

The kingdom has called the allegations "baseless", but has not provided any evidence that Khashoggi left the consulate and did not respond to requests for comment Wednesday.

Turkish officials have concluded that missing Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was assassinated inside the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul eight days ago by a team of 15 Saudi operatives who used a bone saw to dismember his body before smuggling body parts out of the building. The reports did not cite a source and there was no official confirmation of the claim.

'He walked into the consulate of Saudi Arabia, his native country, without doubting he would be safe there.

The Saudi government has denied any involvement in Mr. Khashoggi's disappearance.

Today, Turkish television broadcaster NTV released CCTV footage of some of the Saudis going from the airport to the Movenpick Hotel, where they are believed to have stayed, and on to the consulate.

Still, Trump acknowledged there was little clarity on what precisely happened to Khashoggi, who went missing after visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2 to obtain documents for his marriage.

The individuals checked into two hotels close to the consulate, the daily said.

Mujtahid said that the Turkish judicial authorities are already in possession of sufficient proof and evidence to prove the Saudi government's role in Khashoggi's death, but they are waiting for completion of the legal and judicial process so that the final report would condemn bin Salman.

The men are said to have then left for the private jet enclosure Istanbul's Ataturk airport. "Iran's oil can not be replaced by Saudi Arabia nor any other country", Zanganeh was quoted as saying on his ministry's website.

Beyond that, conjecture and anonymous security sources paint a picture of possible abduction and even murder, with the Saudi consulate in Istanbul at the centre of a mystery that has captured the global media's attention.

Jamal Khashoggi is one of the Arab world's most prominent journalists and commentators.

According to the Washington Post, Khashoggi went to the consulate for "what should have been routine paperwork", yet his fiance who waited for him outside claims he did not leave the building, despite Saudi Arabia's claims that he did.

Prince Mohammed told Bloomberg on Friday that the kingdom had met its promise to Washington to make up for Iranian oil supplies lost through USA sanctions, reimposed when the United States exited a 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six powers.

Lawmakers on Wednesday spoke in harsh terms about the case, warning of consequences if the Saudi regime is found to have ordered the killing.

"I'm not happy about it", Trump said of Khashoggi's disappearance.

Trump said that he and First Lady Melania Trump were in contact with her and were looking to "bring her to the White House". The two soon agreed to marry, but in order to do so he needed to finalise his divorce with his first wife in Saudi Arabia. The footage shows Khashoggi entering the consulate.

Hatice Cengiz did so, hours after Khashoggi didn't come out and after consular staff informed her that he had left.

That same day, President Trump was asked about Khashoggi's disappearance and didn't have much to say apart from "I am concerned about it".

Kışlakçı also serves as an official at the Youth Thought Forum in Istanbul, which is against Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

"We're demanding everything (from the Saudi government)".
