Bush's daughter ties the knot in secret Kennebunkport ceremony

Barbara Pierce Bush, right, married Craig Louis Coyne in a private family ceremony at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport, Maine, Oct. 7, 2018. Sadly, Barbara's grandmother (and her namesake) former First Lady Barbara Bush died at the age of 92 in April, but she was still present at the ceremony. It was just like her: "private (only family!) and full of love (and yes lots of tears!)", Bush's twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, captioned a photo.

The former first daughter, 36, married 37-year-old screenwriter Craig Louis Coyne Sunday on the coast of ME, her sister Jenna Bush Hager publicly confirmed.

And some details: "The bride wore an ivory silk crepe Vera Wang custom gown and was escorted by her father and grandfather".

The family says George W. Bush, Laura Bush and George H.W. Bush were in attendance. "Laura and I are so proud of our compassionate, daring, fierce, kind, intelligent, loving daughter".

"A very short, sweet ceremony", Barbara told People magazine.

Barbara's aunt, Dorothy Bush Koch, served as officiant of the wedding. During this time, Craig - who has acted in movies like 2005's Jarhead, as well as independent flicks like Look At Me and The Snowtown Murders - moved across the country, leaving Los Angeles behind to join Barbara in Manhattan.

The newlyweds will live in New York City, according to the Bush family statement. Coyne, who began dating his now-wife following a blind date in November, dropped to one knee in the same spot where Barbara's grandparents got engaged in in August 1943, nearly exactly 75 years earlier.
