To the tune of The Guess Who's 1969 song, "Laughing", Phoenix is first seen without makeup, standing in front of the camera, casually dressed with his hands in his pockets. Courtesy of director Todd Phillips, we now have a look of Phoenix in his full-on Joker costume, and you can bet that he smiles like a total creep. Now thanks to a recent tweet we may see what the actor would look like when he's clowning around. Now, Joaquin Phoenix is gearing up to step into the role of The Clown Prince, and a teaser for the film has made its way online.

Phillips dropped the video on Instagram with the caption, "Camera test (w/ sound)".

From the looks of Phoenix both in and out of makeup, it's certainly shaping up to be an intense - and intensely original - take on the famed villain. It is also described to be "an exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale".
