Aston Villa have completed the signing of Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on a season-long loan deal.

Abraham joins Yannick Bolasie, Anwar El Ghazi and Andre Moreira as the club's new additions this summer.

Purslow, the former Liverpool and Chelsea managing director, has been appointed by Villa's new owners to help lead the Championship club into a bold new era.

Villa's last league win came in the second game of the season, when they picked up a dramatic 3-2 victory over Wigan Athletic.

The Chelsea-owned striker is proven at the Championship level, having scored 23 goals and provided three assists in 40 league starts for Bristol City during the 2016-17 campaign, according to WhoScored.

'At this stage of my career, I need games and this is a great place for me to come and showcase my talent. "I'm here to do my best, score some goals and hopefully get them back to where they need to be".

Meanwhile, the Blues have loaned defender Michael Hector to Sheffield Wednesday, also for the season.

Speaking at a media conference earlier on Friday, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri indicated that Abraham would make the move. "He said I would like it, like the manager, like the players and I believed him so I'm here".
