Lego Builds Insane Life-Sized Bugatti Chiron You Can Actually Drive

Perfectly recreating the organic design lines of the world's fastest production auto - the iconic Bugatti Chiron1 - the Lego Technic life-size model pushes the boundaries of what Lego builders imagined was possible to build in Lego elements. There will be every feature in it that Bugatti has.

Ninety percent of the auto is made of LEGO Technic pieces, although some parts of the vehicle are not LEGO-the tires, for instance, are Bugatti-made, and the model is built on a metal frame.

The other figures for the Lego Chiron are similarly impressive. The designing of the auto is awesome and its quite a success for the company.

No, it doesn't go as fast as a real sports auto. A flawless replica of a Bugatti Chiron, which is paid more luxury to ride really. It's nowhere near the 250mph of the actual Chiron, but it's not bad at all for a LEGO auto.

Finally, after one million pieces were put into this thing, it was finished.

The Chiron uses 339 different Technic elements, many of which are used as load-bearing components. Made from more than a million pieces, it's the first fully functional, self-propelled life-size LEGO Technic vehicle ever built.

The real Chiron might have a 16-cylinder engine, and there might be a representation in the full-size Lego model, but actual forward motion comes from a whole boatload of electric motors - Lego Power Functions L-Motors, to be precise. Be prepared to lose a lot of time if you decide to do so, though. At its creation took 13 438 hours.

As icing on the cake, Lego got former Le Mans victor and test driver of the real Bugatti Chiron, Andy Wallace, to drive its Chiron replica. This is an actual, driveable auto. 16 specialists were there on the team who worked incessantly to develop this awesome vehicle. Some pieces are custom, only because Lego didn't produce the right kinds of pieces in the right colors for this project.

The 1:8 scale model of the LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron can be found on LEGO's website for $350 United States dollars.
