Ragnar Klavan: Liverpool centre-back to join Serie A side Cagliari

The UEFA Champions League Final row between Real Madrid team captain Sergio Ramos and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has now entered its next round.

Klavan is expected to complete a move to Italian Serie A club Cagliari for a fee of €2m and is on his way to undergo a medical in Italy.

The player said Klopp was trying to find an excuse for loosing the final after having lost six out of seven finals. He's fit which is very good, he's a very good football player and plays the position well. "We need to see who fits the opponents best and then pick the lineup".

His latest comments about Klopp earlier this week, where he mocked his records in finals, only angered Liverpool fans further.

Academy youngster Nathaniel Phillips made a big impression during pre-season and that is believed to have played a part in the decision to allow Klavan to leave. He has a good understanding with Virgil. And if we need then Fabinho can play the position as well.

"That's a bit of the problem of the window, we close in England and the whole of the European world waited to get good football players [on cheaper deals]". So, can we give him the opportunity if he wants to leave? I don't know whether you have anything to say to him or whether you think it's normal that such an incident is still being talked about two and a half months later.

"But we have the others as well and Joel is close to being back".

Gomez started alongside Virgil van Dijk in Sunday's 4-0 thrashing of West Ham, and produced an excellent display in a rare Premier League outing at centre-back.

'Atletico have always had an ambitious project, we can get anywhere with work, humility. We are still in a process, we have to develop.
