Republicans Blast Pearl Jam Poster of Burning White House

Pearl Jam's poster for its Monday night concert in Missoula, Mont.

The eye-catching image has sparked a flood of reaction with many taking umbrage with the depiction of a destroyed Washington, DC and a dead United States president. The poster was designed by Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament and artist Bobby Brown. Tester Evel Knievel on tractor ... over the cesspool below.

The poster shows Senator Tester in a tractor flying over a burning Washington DC, framed by the letters "P" and "J", with smoke forming the word "Vote" in the background.

Tester's opponent Matt Rosendale, who has been accused of supporting white supremacists, called the poster a "blatant display of extremism". It features an image President Trump's dead body, and was used in the promotion of an August 13 concert that helped raise money for Tester's campaign.

While it doesn't seem as though Pearl Jam are too fussed by the criticism coming their way, it remains to be seen what Donald Trump will have to say about the scene depicted in the above poster.

Rosendale and the National Republican Senate Committee (NRSC) compared the poster to comedian Kathy Griffin's 2017 video in which she held a bloodied head modeled after Trump's. Russian money, golf courses, hookers? A spokesman said he didn't like the poster. "Maryland Matt. Stars n stripes as flames". "And we don't condone violence of any kind".

Pearl Jam performed two shows last week in Seattle as benefit concerts to help combat the city's homelessness epidemic. Ament, who is from Montana, said in a statement accompanying the poster on a Twitter post that, "We're at a tipping point and it's time to take action".
