White House slams Omarosa over her book

White House slams Omarosa over her book

George Conway called the claim "ridiculous", tweeting, "The allegation is not credible, and indeed is ridiculous, particularly in light of the timing of her departure from the White House-December 12, 2017". But, at least according to her book's official synopsis, "that relationship has come to a decisive and definitive end".

According to the Guardian website, which says it obtained a copy of Manigault Newman's memoir prior to its August 14 publication date, the former Apprentice contestant and later White House communications staffer writes in Unhinged that while she did not personally hear Trump use the N-word she cites three sources who described the contents of the tape.

After the "Access Hollywood" tape leaked in 2016, rumors mounted that there is unaired footage on "The Apprentice" of Trump making derogatory statements about women and minorities.

The former Trump administration staffer and "The Apprentice" contestant told NPR that she had heard the tape directly, calling it a major factor that changed her opinion of the president, despite the fact that her own memoir says she was only told of the recording.

At the time, an early Apprentice producer took to Twitter to say "there are far worse" behind-the-scenes tapes from the show.

The controversy created by Manigault Newman's tell-all, which comes out next week, will not be the first time the White House has been forced to contend with sensational claims in a book. It said she would do "diversity outreach", among other things, for the campaign, according to her account. Trump was caught on tape by his former "fixer" Michael Cohen talking about the payments to McDougal.

Incredibly, this person - who shall remain nameless - picked up the phone.

Omarosa doesn't claim to have heard Trump use this racial slur herself, but knows of multiple people who have.

She writes, she felt a "growing realization that Donald Trump was indeed a racist, a bigot and a misogynist".

"Instead of telling the truth about all the good President Trump and his administration are doing to make America safe and prosperous, this book is riddled with lies and false accusations", press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.
