AC Milan closing in on Bakayoko Loan deal

Goal revealed on Wednesday that a deal for the Croatia global was nudging Bakayoko towards the exits, with the Frenchman in talks with AC Milan a year on from a £40 million ($52m) move from Monaco.

Chelsea are extremely busy as the transfer window comes to a close, with many arrivals and departures expected.

They also announced an agreement to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan, with goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois heading in the opposite direction.

Bakayoko looks set to leave Chelsea this summer, with the player not believed to be part of Maurizio Sarri's plans.

Competition in midfield may become even fiercer as Chelsea have been linked with a loan deal for Real Madrid's Mateo Kovacic ahead of tomorrow's transfer deadline day.

The French midfielder only joined Chelsea last summer in a £40m deal from Monaco.

Bakayoko would have fallen down Maurizio Sarri's midfield pecking order this season, with the Italian's likely starting options in that area of the pitch set to be N'Golo Kante, Jorginho and Kovacic.

Chelsea start their Premier League campaign this Saturday against Huddersfield at The John Smith's Stadium. Yet he was not able to satisfy the Chelsea bosses of his reliability as he had a dodgy first season.

Courtois has been trying to force his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer after refusing to sign a new contract and Chelsea have made a decision to cash-in rather than risk losing him for nothing next summer.

With Milan leading the race for Bakayoko, Everton's interest appears to be dependent on whether or not they land Zouma. However, at AC Milan he could get regular football and possibly shine for his style of play.
