People are literally queueing around the block for the Nigeria kit launch

The kit has been a huge hit with fans for its retro look and received more than three million pre-orders according to the Nigerian Football Federation, even though manufacturers Nike have denied such claims.

The clamour for the new Nigeria World Cup kit was at unprecedented levels before its release this morning, and less than three hours later it was sold out.

In addition to the home and away kits, the collection included a bucket hat, bumbag, tracksuit and drawstring backpack.

The campaign stars Nike Ambassador Grace Ladoja alongside Wizkid, Not3s, Super EagleAlex Iwobi, Julie Adenuga, Yagazie Emezi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi.

On Friday, queues snaked around the block outside Nike Town, the label's flagship shop on Oxford Street in central London.

The Nigeria team will play in the kit for the first time in the friendly match against England at Wembley on Saturday June 2.

There is a slightly less loud away kit which has also sold out.

Designed by Nike, the futuristic-looking green and white kit pays "subtle homage to Nigeria's '94 shirt, with its eagle wing-inspired black-and-white sleeve and green torso", the kit makers said.

"The queue shows the pride Nigerians have and that they are willing to support their team at the World Cup and spend money to do so". "We won the World Cup to me". Nigeria's World Cup group contains Argentina, Iceland and Croatia this summer in Russian Federation.
