Roseanne Barr blames racist tweet on sleeping pills

Roseanne Barr blames racist tweet on sleeping pills

Even after pledging to leave Twitter - and then quickly breaking that promise - Roseanne Barr returned to the medium Thursday night to reveal that she "begged like 40 motherf--s" to keep her show on the air that ABC canceled earlier this week.

"She's known Trump for 30 years like I have", he said.

On the end of the series: "It had to happen".

"You guys make me feel like fighting back", she tweeted the day after her show was canceled.

"I had a feeling this was going to happen when I first heard it was coming back", Arnold told Cooper.

Meanwhile, Michael Fishman - who played the part of D.J. Conner on Roseanne - recently blasted his co-star's comments, describing them as "intolerable".

She continued: "He said: what were you thinking when you did this?"

In case you haven't been following along, ABC canceled the revival of Roseanne after Roseanne's racist tweet about former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett.

All this to say, ABC owes people money.

When Sara Gilbert wrote a statement on Twitter that said, "This is incredibly sad and hard for all of us, as we've created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love- one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member", Barr shot back with, "Wow!" I said: I thought she was white, she looks like my family! "The Roseanne I know could probably use some compassion and help right now", he tweeted.

"Roseanne" had returned to USA screens in March after a 21-year hiatus with Barr's character recast as a Trump supporter in a rare depiction of working class life on the U.S. small screen.

The fallout started after the comedian went off on a freakish Twitter rant attacking people including Barack Obama's former senior adviser Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American. Robert Iger, chairman of ABC owner Disney, said in a tweet, "There was only one thing to do here, and that was the right thing".

Jarrett spoke about the tweets directed at her by Roseanne Barr during an appearance on an MSNBC town hall on Tuesday. Re-runs of the original have also been axed. That's who I felt bad for when this whole thing imploded, because I'm like, she put this show together - [star and executive producer] Sara Gilbert - and she was crushing on it, she was really good, showing off what a great actress she is. "I made a mistake I wish I hadn't but...don't defend it please. ty".

Barr's response to some of the other cast members' reactions were not so kind.
