Kim Kardashian Thanks President Donald Trump After White House Meeting

Wendy Williams proved she's queen of the backhanded compliment on Thursday, as she gave Kim Kardashian props for speaking out for prison reform while ripping her marriage to Kanye West in the process.

"There was a reason why I was looking at my Twitter at that moment", she told Mic.

The photo, seen below on this page, showed a broadly grinning Trump seated behind his Oval Office desk, with an awkward and expressionless Kardashian standing rigidly behind him to his right.

Kim Kardashian visited the White House on May 30, to talk about a serious issue, prison reform.

The branding mogul has been advocating for a pardon for Alice Marie Johnson, a great-grandmother serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense.

Jessica Jackson Sloan, national director of #cut50, an advocacy group calling for a reduction of the prison population, said in a statement, "We commend Ms. Kardashian-West for putting people over politics today".

He met the President at Trump Tower shortly after his election victory, and was pictured wearing a cap bearing the slogan, "Make America Great Again", a phrase associated with Mr Trump.

Trump responded in kind, thanking West for a tweet in which the Grammy-winning musician praised the president's "dragon energy".

Kushner oversees the administration's push to overhaul the nation's prison system and help former inmates gain skills and more effectively make the transition back into society. "Today is for you", Kardashian tweeted before arriving in Washington on Wednesday - Johnson's birthday. Kardashian West was at the White House for about an hour.

Kardashian also reportedly met with Jared Kushner, senior adviser and Trump's son-in-law, who has made criminal justice reform one of his policy goals.

West also paid a visit to the then-president-elect in NY before his inauguration.

Since being incarcerated, Johnson's daughter says she's been a "model prisoner" who mentors other women. Johnson is now sentenced to life in prison at the Aliceville Correctional Facility in Alabama.

While Obama commuted a record number of sentences, Johnson was denied clemency at that time.

At the time, The Tennessean reported that Johnson led a "multimillion-dollar drug ring that dealt in tons of cocaine from 1991-94".

According to The Sun, the USA president is said to be in favour of waiving Johnson's sentence after the move was backed by daughter Ivanka.

As someone who used to dig through couch cushions for gas money and sold family jewelry to pay bills, I can honestly say I know what it's like to feel desperate enough to do whatever it takes to keep yourself afloat. "I'll do whatever it takes to get her out".
