Cavs coach Tyronn Lue: LeBron James will be great in Game 6

The Cavaliers announced Saturday afternoon that All-Star forward Kevin Love has been placed into the NBA's concussion protocol and will miss Sunday's matchup against the Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Finals.

"If I had to pick one guy and choose one guy to prevail, it would be LeBron", Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said.

LeBron James and the depleted Cleveland Cavaliers won't get any sympathy from the Celtics when they return to Boston for Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The Cleveland Cavaliers finished the regular season with one of the worst defensive records in the league ranked 29th.

The Cavs appeared to be in big trouble when he went out in Game 6, but Cleveland got 20 points from Hill, 14 from Jeff Green and 10 from Larry Nance offset losing Love.

That stay-in-the-moment mindset has served them well all season and becomes even more important following a Game 6 loss Friday night, a game in which the Celtics did a lot of what they were intending to do in order to give themselves a shot at winning.

"As soon as I leave here and head home to Akron I'll start to prepare", LeBron said.

"In our sit-downs, and I obviously see him regularly, but in our sit-downs or just our casual conversation, he seems to be in a great place", Stevens said before Wednesday's Game 5 at TD Garden. And the home team has won every game in this series.

This stage was made for LeBron James.

The Celtics struggled to make things happen at times in Game 6. Tatum added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals one day after finishing one vote shy of a unanimous selection to the NBA's All-Rookie team.

For one night, the Celtics will simply revel in sitting on the cusp of an improbable Finals trip.

That machine was on full display in Game 6 Friday night, unleashing a monstrous display of domination.

"I don't want to talk so much about [whether it's his last game in Cleveland], but I think just his performance was awesome", Kyle Korver said.

Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving is "in a great place" according to Celtics head coach Brad Stevens.

The Celtics have two chances to go to their first Finals since 2010 - the previous year a non-LeBron team represented the East. And they can thank some of their youngest players for helping them get this far. It's just something that you really can't explain what he's doing night in, night out. You just move on and you get ready for the next one, and you play it as well as you can.

The 33-year-old's next challenge: finding a way to beat the Celtics, who have played at another level on their home floor. And with the injury bug hitting the Western Conference finalists - Chris Paul was the latest ruled out for a game - the East champion might not be as big an underdog as expected.
