To be selected, a person must meet height and weight requirements, pass an aptitude test, and receive presidential clearance. Staff members will direct traffic to the assembly area and parking. It's good to see that we have Cub Scouts, we have Sea Cadets, we've got many different organizations out here that participate in this.

More than 250 flags will be raised, with a 21-gun salute and the playing of taps following the raising ceremony.

It's become an annual event for community members to show appreciation for the men and women who served our nation by placing American flags at the headstones of fallen service members.

The Fayetteville National Cemetery will hold its ceremony on Monday (May 28) at 10 a.m., and the event is open to the public.
