Rangers job too good to turn down for Gerrard

Scott Arfield has become Steven Gerrard's first signing as Rangers manager after joining on a four-year deal from Burnley.

Arfield then flew to Glasgow this morning to tie up his move to Ibrox and Rangers new boss Steven Gerrard is pleased to have added the Canada worldwide to his squad.

"Look, it's going to be a tough task", McAllister was quoted as saying by the Evening Times.

"When you look at the style of football that Juergen Klopp plays, I think every fan in the world loves watching that", Gerrard said in a Question and Answer session in Dubai as part of a Liverpool club function.

Former Liverpool captain Gerrard said Arfield was the first of several signings aimed at strengthening the club.

Having played in the Scottish league with Falkirk between 2007 and 2010, it is believed that Arfield will not struggle to adapt to his new surroundings.

"We go up to Glasgow and we will give it our best".

Former Burnley midfielder and Canada global Scott Arfield has joined Rangers.

"It's pleasing also we have been able to start our rebuilding process so quickly after the end of the season".

He helped the Terriers win promotion to the Championship and earned a move to Burnley in 2013, where the midfielder has been promoted to the Premier League twice and spent three seasons in the top-flight of English football.

The Scottish Premiership club will see David Bates leave Ibrox this summer for Hamburg, whilst there's doubt popped up around Bruno Alves at various points over the season, and bringing in a central defender is likely.
