Nawaz Sharif makes explosive revelations on Pakistan's role in Mumbai terror attacks

He said: "We always maintained that Pak is behind terror attacks here". The story of Afghanistan was accepted, but not ours. "We must look into it", Sharif said. During an interview, Nawaz Sharif has openly admitted that terrorist organization in his country are working actively. Explain it to me. "Why can't we complete the trial?" the former PM said, referring to Mumbai attacks-related trials which have been stalled in the anti-terrorism court in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.

Ten Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists had sailed into Mumbai from Karachi and carried out coordinated attacks, killing 166 people and injuring over 300 in November 2008.

Sharif further said, "It's absolutely unacceptable (to allow non-state actors to cross the border and commit terrorism there). President Putin has said it. President Xi has said it", he said. At this time too many terrorist organizations in Pakistan are active.

He also blamed the government, saying that the country can't run on three parallel government, and that it should be one body to govern the people of the country. "There can only be one government - the constitutional one".

Sharif, 68, was disqualified by the Supreme Court for not being "honest and righteous" as he failed to declare in 2013 a salary he got from the company of his son in the UAE.

The petition, which has been filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Noor Ahmed Awan, states that the National Accountability Bureau had released a press release on May 8 which stated that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was involved in transferring money to India.

As local analysts and politicians criticised him for his "irresponsible" attitude after his ouster from power, Indian media misinterpreted his words to take it as a validation of their claim that the 2008 Mumbai attacks were orchestrated from Pakistan.
